How we rank gear, and what money can't buy

Yardstick Outfitters works for riders. Here's how we keep it that way.

1. Your size can't be bought

• Size recommendations come from each brand's published size chart, your measurements and qualifying rider fit reports. Nothing else. See how we size and how fit ratings work.
• No brand, retailer or partner can pay to change a size recommendation, a fit rating or a fit note.

2. Rankings can't be bought

• Deals are listed by discount (biggest percent off first), and only verified, in-stock deals are shown.
• Your size, category, brand and price filters narrow the list.
• What a retailer pays us never affects the order or the filters, including affiliate commissions, which differ by retailer.

3. Sponsored means labeled

• If we ever show paid placements, each one will be clearly marked "Sponsored."
• They'll sit apart from fit results, at most one per page, and never inside a "best fit," "your size" or "top deals" list.
• A sponsored item still has to be in stock and verified like every other deal.

4. The same rules apply to AI assistants

When an AI assistant asks our server for sizes or deals, sponsored items (if any) come back in a separate, labeled field. They're never mixed into recommendations.

5. Partner codes are disclosed

• Some brands may give Yardstick members an exclusive discount code. When a deal includes one, we say so ("exclusive code through our partnership with [brand]").
• Codes don't change where a deal ranks.

6. How we earn money

• We earn affiliate commissions on some links, at no extra cost to you (see our Affiliate Disclosure).
• Memberships are planned at launch.
• We never sell your measurements or personal information.

7. If we change this policy

We'll update this page with the date first. A change will never allow paid influence over size recommendations or fit ratings.
