Aerostich Sizing Guide: R-3, Roadcrafter and Darien

Aerostich builds most of its rider suits and Darien gear in Duluth, Minnesota. Sizing is numeric (chest inches), with Short / Regular / Long lengths on suits. Use Aerostich's own charts and sizing tool before you order[1][2][3].

Men's suit chart (R-3 / Roadcrafter)

Aerostich's men's suit chart pairs chest and waist. A few representative rows[1]:

SizeChestWaist
3838" (96 cm)32" (81 cm)
4040" (102 cm)34" (86 cm)
4242" (107 cm)36" (91 cm)
4444" (112 cm)38" (96 cm)
4646" (117 cm)40" (102 cm)

Each chest size also offers Short, Regular and Long based on height and inseam[1]. Suits are meant to fit over a street-clothes layer.

Darien jacket chart

Darien jackets size by chest (36–56). Aerostich recommends a roomy, layer-friendly fit—like a mountain parka—not a race-suit fit[2][4]. If you wear a size 40 men's suit, the same Darien size is designed to fit over street clothes[4].

SizeChest
4040" / 102 cm
4242" / 107 cm
4444" / 112 cm
4646" / 117 cm

Pre-2013 Darien sizes numbered differently; Aerostich publishes a conversion on the jacket chart page[2].

How to choose

  1. Measure chest and waist the way Aerostich describes, or use their online sizing tool[3].
  2. For suits, match both chest and waist, then pick Short/Regular/Long from height.
  3. For Darien, start with chest and expect a generous cut for armor and layers[4].
  4. When in doubt, Aerostich customer care will size you by phone[1][3].
